Ways you can support

Third Street!

Below are just a few of the ways that you can support Third Street in bringing the empowering force of arts education to thousands of New Yorkers. Your support will ensure that Third Street remains a place where cost is never a barrier to learning and students of all backgrounds can pursue music and dance education without limits.

Donate

The easiest way to give, right now!

  • Employer Match

Many companies will match donations made by their employees to eligible non-profit organizations. After you make a gift to Third Street, ask your employer or HR representative for a matching gift form, send it to us and we’ll take care of the rest!

  • Stocks

Donating long-term appreciated securities (including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds) is an excellent way to make a gift to Third Street.

In most cases, you will be entitled to an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the securities on the date of the gift and will not have to report capital gain income. You may use securities to make your annual gift to Third Street, contribute a special gift, or fund a charitable gift annuity or charitable trust.

Contact your financial advisor for further information on how to transfer securities to Third Street.

  • In-Kind Gifts

In-kind gifts are goods or services that are donated to further Third Street’s mission. Just like cash donations, in-kind gifts are tax-deductible and Third Street will provide written acknowledgment for your records.

Please note that you will be responsible for providing the value of your in-kind gift.

Examples of in-kind gifts include, but are not limited to instruments (in excellent condition), gift certificates, event auction items, professional services or support, software, and event spaces.

  • Donor Advised Funds

As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Third Street accepts gifts through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs).

To make a gift through your DAF, contact your financial/legal advisor or your DAF representative to recommend a grant to Third Street Music School Settlement.

  • IRA Distributions

As you plan your required minimum distributions for the year, consider using an IRA Charitable Rollover (also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution - QCD) to make the most of your charitable giving.

Contact your financial advisor for further information on how to support your philanthropic goals by making the most of your IRA account.

  • Legacy Gifts and Estate Planning

Give the gift of music as part of your planned giving by allocating an amount, specific assets, or a percentage of your estate to Third Street.

Legacy giving can bring tax benefits for you and your beneficiaries while simultaneously ensuring access to Third Street’s arts education programs for future generations.

Contact your estate-planning attorney to make a planned gift to Third Street.

  • Commemorative Giving

Make a gift to honor a loved one who is passionate about changing lives through arts education. When you make a gift to Third Street, simply specify who you would like your gift to commemorate and we will add their name to our donor scroll.
