Tammy Dunn, Director

Tammy Dunn, the Director of Third Street Preschool, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role. With an impressive 24-year career in teaching at independent schools in New York City, Tammy has honed her expertise in early childhood education. Her commitment to discovery learning is at the forefront of her educational philosophy, as she firmly believes that children thrive when encouraged to explore, question, and actively engage with the world around them.


Tammy's passion for music and the arts has been a driving force behind her work at Third Street Preschool. She understands the transformative power of artistic expression and ensures that the preschool provides a rich and immersive environment for children to explore their creative talents.


Equity and belonging are fundamental values in Tammy's approach to education. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing space where every child feels valued, respected, and celebrated for their unique identity.


Tammy holds a MSEd degree in early childhood education as well as an advanced certification in gifted and talented education from Hunter College. She is currently pursuing an advanced degree in leadership and learning from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education.

Kirstin Aadahl

Assistant Director

Third Street Preschool and

Early Childhood Programs


Before working at Third Street, Kirstin was a 5th grade Special Education Teacher at a private special education school in New Jersey. She has a BA degree in Special Education and taught for 14 years. She loves being part of the wonderful community at Third Street, working closely with both staff and families.

Zoilo Pimentel

Coordinator

Third Street Preschool


Zoilo’s career started in the art world. He led the department of cultural management and the social media accounts at the Museum of Modern Arts in the Dominican Republic. He has managed cultural projects based in Spain and Brazil—all with a concentration in education and innovation through art. After obtaining his master’s degree in Communication & Media Technologies he worked for the International Executive Service Corps, a non-profit, and led the PR department and social media accounts for the Museum of Natural History in the DR. Zoilo is experienced in collaborating with educators and artists. This is his first year at Third Street Preschool.
