Summer Preschool Camp

Open for ages 18 months - 5 years

Open for our youngest Third Street students, Summer Preschool Camp includes fun in the learning garden, water play, music, chess and "Super Soccer Stars."


New Horizons Summer Session

Tuesdays, June 14 - July 19

5:00pm - 7:00pm

New Horizons provides entry points to music-making for adults, including those with no musical experience, and those who were active in school music programs but have been inactive for a long period. If you’re “50 or better” and want to dust off your trombone or try your hand at flute, Third Street’s New Horizons Bands, NYC’s official chapter of the international organization, bring together like-minded adults to play music and perform! Open to all instruments. Cost $200


Adult Summer

Jazz Band

Thursdays, June 23 - July 28

4:30pm - 6:00pm

Six weeks that explore the art of jazz studies through the performance of jazz compositions and repertoire. Students will have an opportunity to build on their knowledge of jazz theory and develop their personal improvisational techniques and understanding of the jazz style. Plus play Jazz! Instruction will be led by Neal Kirkwood.


Summer Chamber Music Workshop

Tuesday, July 5 - Friday, July 15

9:30am - 3:30pm

Third Street’s Summer Chamber Music Workshop fully returns with daily ensemble rehearsals and activities to explore the exciting world of small ensemble music.  Students will engage with guest artists in masterclasses, be supported in supervised practice and sectionals, and explore performance and audition prep, Alexander technique workshops, recording techniques, and more.


Summer Dance Workshop

Monday, July 11 - Friday, July 22

9:30am - 3:30pm

Dance through summer at Third Street!  Summer Dance workshop students will enjoy full-day dance experience including primary studio movement classes in ballet, tap and hip-hop, and pointe classes for our most advanced students.  Dancers will also explore the art of choreography and learn how to create dances to express themselves.


Summer Piano Ensemble Workshop

Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 29

9:30am - 3:30pm

The Piano Ensemble Workshop returns for two fun-filled weeks at Third Street!  Younger piano students will explore musical collaboration by playing together in piano ensembles while older students hone their musicianship skills and continue to expand their artistic voice.  Each day consists of ensemble rehearsals, supervised practice sessions, supporting recreational activities with time leftover for fun outside!

Summer Musical Theatre Level I

Monday, July 25 - Friday, July 29

9:00am - 3:00pm

Open for students age 6-8, with no previous experience, this workshop explores the fundamentals of musical theatre in a nurturing and supportive environment as they hone their acting and singing skills and learn theatre style dance. Students will have the opportunity to write their own scenes, as well as design and create many of their own sets and props.



Summer Musical Theatre Level II

Monday, August 1 - Friday, August 12

9:00am - 3:30pm

Open for students age 9-14, our annual  Musical Theatre workshop is a full-day intensive youth theatre program. It includes group rehearsals, to hone acting, singing, and movement skills as well as theatre style dance class and stage combat techniques taught by professional Broadway artists.


Summer Jazz Workshop

Monday, Aug 1 - Friday, Aug 5

9:30am - 3:30pm

An in-depth study of jazz performance and improvisation with daily ensemble rehearsals, jazz musicianship, improvisation, listening, guest master classes, and performance techniques. The week concludes with a live performance.
